Lead the crowd with your Red Knights spirit! Join a Norchester Red Knights cheerleading squad and fall in love with this fun, popular sport. Our award-winning squads build self-confidence, teach sportsmanship and create lasting friendships among the cheerleaders.

Our cheerleaders learn cheers, chants, jumps, dances and stunting — and will perform them all during football games, special events and an optional end-of-season cheerleading competition!

We provide athletic opportunities for beginners to experienced cheerleaders:

• Flag Cheerleading Squad for children ages 5-6 years

• Tackle Cheerleading Squads for youth ages 7-13 years

Age Standards To ensure a safe and positive environment, each cheerleader is placed in a division based on age. Our programs have no cutting of squads.

The Feeder Program for OJR Cheerleading
As a cheerleading feeder programs for ALL the local high schools, we are dedicated to the development of cheer skills in our student athletes.

Child Safety is Our Priority
All coaches, assistant coaches and any volunteers in direct contact with cheerleaders have completed a criminal background check and child abuse clearance.

Commitment
Cheerleading requires a strong commitment to the program. Squads need every member present on a regular basis to perform their cheers, dances and especially stunts! The success of the program is driven by the level of support delivered by our coaches, players, parents, volunteers and the community.

Field Cheerleading Squads

Practice & Games

Flag Field Squad
In August, practice is one night a week from 6:00-7:30 pm. After school starts, practice goes to two night a week from 6:00-7:30 pm (except for Flag Squad). We plan to hold practices at PAL Sports Complex, but this may be subject to change due to field assignments. Practice schedules and details will be issued by the beginning of August.

Games are usually on Saturday and occasionally on Friday evening or Sunday afternoon. Home games are played at PAL Sports Complex. For away games, the flag squad travels to other conference team locations, usually in Chester County and sometimes in Delaware County.

Tackle Field Squads 
In August, practice for all tackle squads will be 2-3 nights a week from 6:00-8:00pm. After school starts, practice remains 2-3 nights a week from 6:00-8:00pm. We plan to hold practices at PAL Sports Complex, but this may be subject to change due to field assignments. Practice schedules and details will be issued by late July.

Games are usually Saturdays. Home games are played at PAL Sports Complex.

Practice Uniform

For practices, all cheerleaders should wear a t-shirt or tank (no spaghetti straps), cotton athletic shorts and white cheer shoes. Pull hair back in a ponytail and remove all jewelry including post earrings, jeweled bobby pins and hard plastic headbands. Please bring a water bottle labeled with your child's name.

Game Uniform

Flag Squad
Norchester Red Knights will provide your child with a cheerleading uniform (vest and skirt) for use during the season. You will receive a white long-sleeve bodysuit, black bloomers, cheer socks and a hair bow from us at uniform distribution (included in your registration fee). Please provide white cheer and black tights for cooler weather.

Tackle Squads 
Norchester Red Knights will provide your child with a cheerleading uniform (vest and skirt) for use during the season. You will receive a white long-sleeve bodysuit, black bloomers, cheer socks and a hair bow from us at uniform distribution (included in your registration fee). Please provide white cheer shoes and black tights/leggings for your child.

FOR ALL CHEERLEADERS: There is a $150 UNIFORM BOND REQUIRED before any cheerleader can receive their uniform.

Physical Exam

Each cheerleader is required to have a physical exam completed by a physician before practicing with the squad. This is done at the expense of the parent/guardian. Physicals must be returned no later than August 1, 2023, to start practice.

Flag Field Cheerleading registration fee | $75
Tackle Field Cheerleading registration fee | $150 (all returning families will receive an optional discount code, via email, which they can use to bring their registration to $125 If they do not want a new cheer jacket and have one that fits from the season prior)

To make the Norchester Red Knights even more affordable for families, we offer $10 OFF registration for each additional child you register. (For example, first child is $150, second child is $140 and third child is $130.)
