Get Fired Up with the Red Knights Cheerleaders!
Cheerleading for Ages 5 to 14
Lead the crowd with your Red Knights spirit! Join a Norchester Red Knights cheerleading squad and fall in love with this fun, popular sport. Our award-winning squads build self-confidence, teach sportsmanship and create lasting friendships among the cheerleaders.
Our cheerleaders learn cheers, chants, jumps, dances and stunting — and will perform them all during football games, special events and an optional end-of-season cheerleading competition!
We provide athletic opportunities for beginners to experienced cheerleaders:
- Flag Cheerleading Squad for children ages 5-6 years
- Tackle Cheerleading Squads for youth ages 7-14 years
To ensure a safe and positive environment, each cheerleader is placed in a division based on age. Our programs have no cutting of squads.
The Feeder Program for OJR Cheerleading
As the cheerleading feeder program for Owen J. Roberts High School, we are dedicated to the development of cheer skills in our student athletes.
All students within our district, students from other public or private schools and home-schooled students are invited to join the Norchester Red Knights!
Proud Member of Bert Bell Conference
We are a proud member of the Bert Bell Memorial Football & Cheerleading Conference. This league was established to equip football players and cheerleaders with the skills, physical conditioning and mental attitude necessary for the pursuance of the sport at the high school level.
Child Safety is Our Priority
All coaches, assistant coaches and any volunteers in direct contact with cheerleaders have completed a criminal background check and child abuse clearance.
Cheerleading requires a strong commitment to the program. Squads need every member present on a regular basis to perform their cheers, dances and especially stunts! The success of the program is driven by the level of support delivered by our coaches, players, parents, volunteers and the community.
We Would Love for You to be a Red Knight!
Registration is now open for the Fall 2016 Cheer Season! For more information on our Cheer Program or if you can coach during the Fall 2016 season, please contact our Cheer Director Kristy Pouchan.

Each competition squad prepares an exciting routine combining cheers, music, dance, stunts, tumbling and crowd participation. Our cheerleaders take pride in being an important part of this amazing event!
Competition is optional and open to all Field Squad Cheerleaders! Competition Squads will be formed in September based on cheerleader interest, age, skill level and available coaches. All Competition Squad practices are mandatory. Please understand that there will be additional costs (for example $40-$50) and/or fundraising required to cover competition fees, gym rental fees, music and signs.
Flag Exhibition Squad
Flag exhibition squads perform 1-minute 30-second exhibition routine and do not compete with other flag squads. Flag squad participation is optional, but strongly encouraged!
